HON. MICHAEL V. AJELLO, FMR. SUPREME COURT JUSTICE, RICHMOND COUNTY, JOINS NAM’S NY METRO ROSTER
NAM is pleased to announce that effective March 2, 2012, Former Supreme Court Justice, Michael Ajello, will be joining NAM’s NY Metro Roster. Judge
Ajello joins NAM after a legal career that includes both private practice and judicial experience. As a Former Justice of the Supreme Court, by appointment of Former Governor George Pataki, Hon Ajello served in Manhattan Supreme in 2003 and then in Richmond County in 2006. From 2007-2011, Judge Ajello served as a judicial hearing officer at Supreme Court, Richmond County, Civil Part where he conducted mostly non-jury trials and hearings, in addition to supervising the Foreclosure Conference Party. Other Court appointed work includes his service as a Referee, Guardian Ad Litem, Attorney for Alleged Incapacitated Persons, Court Evaluator and Court Examiner. When not on the bench, Judge Ajello was engaged in a private law practice where he handled all types of civil litigation including personal injury, property damage, real estate, and a wide variety of commercial cases.
Judge Ajello is a highly skilled arbitrator/mediator known for his legal acumen and even-handed judgment, as well as the fair and equitable treatment of the parties. He is highly regarded by his peers and other members of the legal and judicial community. He is a proponent of alternative dispute resolution having served as both an arbitrator and mediator on several occasions in the past. His outstanding communication, listening and people skills, as well as his broad legal and dispute resolution experience will serve NAM’s clients well.
Judge Ajello will be available to hear cases in Staten Island, as well as throughout the NY Metro area.
