Hon. Gabriel M. Krausman NAM, one of the nation's premier dispute resolution institutions, announced today that the Honorable Gabriel M. Krausman, former Associate Justice of the Appellate Division, 2nd Department, has joined NAM as one of the company's high-profile dispute resolution professionals.

Judge Krausman, known as an excellent communicator, has vast experience and an excellent reputation within the legal community. He has been a hardworking and dedicated public servant and believes in the advantages of resolving cases in a private forum. Justice Krausman has been a lecturer at numerous teaching forums and symposiums sponsored by law schools and local bar associations. A recognized authority on trial practice and settlement techniques, he is continually honing his skills. He was a prolific trial judge. In 1992, prior to his appointment to the Appellate Division, he disposed of more than 2,100 cases by trial or settlement, which is one of the most significant and productive accomplishments in the history of New York State.

His published appellate decisions reflect a keen intellect evidenced by his scholarly and pragmatic approach to vast areas of legal discourse.

Justice Krausman was selected by Presiding Justice Prudenti to chair a broad-based committee created to review and consider the rules and procedures involving the admission and discipline of attorneys. The Krausman Committee's final report culminated in the implementation of a new dynamic in the admission and disciplinary process within the Second Department.

In recognition of his achievements, in 1999, Justice Krausman was honored as the recipient of the Benjamin N. Cardozo Award presented by the Jewish Lawyers' Guild.

In 2000, Justice Krausman had the distinction of receiving the Harlan Fiske Stone Award, presented for his outstanding contribution to American Jurisprudence by the New York City Trial Lawyers Association.

In 2002, Justice Krausman was acclaimed by the Brooklyn Bar Association when it conferred upon him the Annual Outstanding Achievement Award of the Association.

In 2007, Justice Krausman was the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award granted by the Brooklyn Bar Association.
